2010 Redline Time Attack Teams Announced!

With the overall success of the Franchise Team Program in 2009, we decided to bring the program back for 2010, while adding significant value to the program for those teams making the commitment to Redline. The Franchise Team Program allows those teams/drivers who wish to make a commitment to Redline, to receive additional exposure and be involved in promotional activities that are not available to non-Franchise Teams. For the 2010 season, we have 19 teams consisting of 26 cars, who will be working with and representing Redline as Franchise Teams! Below we will quickly introduce each of the teams. Look for detailed team profiles on the RedlineTimeAttack.com website soon!

034 Motorsports – Team driver Christian Miller, fresh off the 2009 Koni Challenge ST Class Season Championship, returns to Redline Time Attack on the 034 Motorsport Audi A4 in the Modified AWD Class.

101 Pipe & Casing/NNI Racing – Team principal and driver Dusty Nabor returns to Redline for 2010 in the same 2009 Subaru Impreza STI in Modified Class. We’re looking to Dusty to improve his overall 2009 finishing position now that this will be his 2nd full season of Redline Time Attack.

AE Performance – The team over at AE Performance, regulars to West Coast Redline events in 2009, come into the 2010 Season with a 3 car effort. Paul Dentice will be driving the teams Nissan 370z, Richard Taylor will be piloting an E92 BMW 335i, and Paul Walker will be behind the wheel of an E92 M3.

ABF Performance – ABF Performance will be coming into the series with a 2 car effort, a MINI in the Buddy Club Street Tire Class and a 2nd MINI in the Super Modified Class. The Street Tire Class MINI will be driven by reigning Street Tire FWD Champion Clint Boisdeau, and the Super Modified MINI will be piloted by Dez Ballard.

AFI Turbo – Last season we had a glimpse of the AFI Turbo Honda S2000, both at Spring Mountain and Auto Club Speedway. Jeremy Renshaw returns behind the wheel and he looks to challenge for the Season Title.

AQ Motorsports – AQ Motorsports will be entering 2 vehicles for the West Coast Championship, a Subaru STI and a Honda S2000. 2008 Street Tire Champion JC Meynet returns behind the wheel of the Subaru in Modified AWD and will certainly contend for a Championship in 2010. Ryan Novak will split time with JC in the S2000 in Modified RWD as they do battle with AFI Turbo’s S2000.

Berk Technology – Mike Bonanni will be behind the wheel of the Berk Technology BMW 135i in the Buddy Club Street Tire Class. With the updates and revisions performed to the BMW during the off season, we’re looking for good things from Mike and his team!

CIP Motorsports/240sxMotoring.com – Long time Redline Time Attack racer Jeff Ricca has decided to commit to the East Region Championship in his Super Modified Nissan 240sx. His Nissan has always been one of the best looking cars on the circuit and a fan favorite. The flowing courses of the East Region should suit Jeff and his vehicle well!

COBB Tuning – In addition to supporting the Redline Time Attack Series as the Modified Class Title Sponsor, the team over at COBB Motorsports will enter 3 vehicles to start the year off. Company founder/owner Trey Cobb, will pilot an as yet to be mentioned vehicle in the Enthusiast Class. Brian Lock will pilot a Nissan R35 GT-R in Modified Class, and Cameron Benner will drive a 2006 Subaru STI in Street Tire Class.

Fontana Nissan Racing – Mike Cronin Jr. will be pulling double duty this year, driving both of the teams cars, a Nissan R35 GT-R in Modified and their fan favorite Nissan 350z in Super Modified. Similar to COBB Tuning, Fontana Nissan has come on board as the Enthusiast Class Title Sponsor for the 2010 Season.

Forged Performance – Team Principal Sharif Abdelbaset returns for 2010 behind the wheel of his company’s Nissan R35 GT-R in the Modified Class. Based on his 3rd place finish overall in Modified AWD for 2009, we expect Sharif to contend for the Championship in the East Region in 2010.

GST Motorsports – The team over at GST return once again with their 1996 Subaru Impreza L in Super Modified AWD. This year, look for the G’STig behind the wheel. Who exactly is, The G’STig? We’re all dying to know!

Mazdatrix – We’ll see two cars from Mazdatrix this season, a 2004 RX-8 piloted by team principal Dave Lemon in the Buddy Club Street Tire Class, and a 1991 Mazda RX-7 Turbo driven by Kyle Mohan in the Drift Class. Mazdatrix is bringing considerable effort to their program for 2010 and we’re looking for both cars to contend for their respective Championships in 2010.

N1 Racing – Andrie Hartanto will be behind the wheel of S2000 previously managed by J’s Racing. Andrie will have his hands full in the Super Modified RWD Class, but with his skill and N1 Racing’s ability to put a car together, the team should do very well this year.

RobiSPEC/Road Racing Engineering – A newcomer to the Redline Time Attack Series, David Duong will be throwing his hat into the Modified AWD Class. We had a chance to see the car at our Official Test day on February 16th. If David can drive the car as fast as it looks, the other Modified AWD competitors will certainly need to watch out!

Takata Time Attack – James Elterman, 2008 Modified AWD Champion, has sold his previous Subaru, and will be stepping into the Subaru campaigned by LIC Motorsports in 2009. With a fresh new livery for the Subaru, courtesy of the Forza Motorsport 3 community, we expect James to be a podium contender at every event he attends.

World Racing – Christian Rado returns in his “Dual Wing Beast” Scion tC in the Super Modified FWD Class. Christian recently broke his own FWD lap record at Willow Springs, so we’re expecting him to continue to push the envelope on FWD time attack competition. We’re also anticipating the day World Racing debuts their new AWD Scion tC later this season.
